Each teacher winter outfit idea prioritizes comfort, quality, and affordability. As a teacher, I can attest to these items holding up to long days on your feet so you feel comfortable but feel put together.
Before we dive into the whole shebang for teacher winter outfit ideas, here are some tips, tricks, and thoughts on buying affordable and quality items.
Tips and tricks for buying affordable (but quality!) clothes
One amazing trick to buying affordable but quality clothes is look on the factory websites of reliable shops. Enter J. Crew Factory, Gap Factory, and Banana Republic Factory. Moral of the story? Always check if a store you love has a factory store.
Another tip that can save you money is looking on the sales tab, checking during sale holidays, and checking to see if there is a teacher discount. Madewell and Rothy’s are two places that offer teacher discounts. Madewell jeans are some of the best jeans around (plus they carry tons of petite denim options).
If you check the Madewell sales tab, you’ll often find jeans that are mega marked down. That plus a teacher discount, and you may find yourself paying less than $50 for a new pair of jeans!
Why you should consider spending more on shoes
Shoes are one of the few elements of my wardrobe where more often than not I can’t call them super budget-friendly. Believe me, I’ve tried to find budget-friendly teacher shoes. But comfort is a non-negotiable for me.
One trick is to pin the shoes you want to buy and then look to see if they are discounted for around the time things typically go on sale (oftentimes they are!).
But at the end of the day, after walking and standing on tile/concrete/whatever hard material classroom floors are, my body aches are always in proportion to the price tag.
After years of hunting for shoes that don’t break the bank or your back, I’ve come up empty handed. The most inexpensive I’ve found are these Birkenstocks for $50.
If you do the math, they are budget friendly in the long run because they don’t wear out as fast. They’re an investment. And I never have thought to myself “Man, I’m so mad I spent $100-$150 on these shoes so my feet don’t hurt at the end of the day!”.
The bottom line? I think paying more for shoes is totally worth it.
So here is your ultimate guide to teacher/anyone winter outfit ideas! I hope you find an item or two to go with your winter outfits. Enjoy!
