If you’re looking for the most comfortable teacher shoes, you’re in the right place! Not a teacher but in search of comfortable shoes because you’re on your feet all day? This post covers everything from the most comfy sneakers to flats to boots!

I got a text from one of my teacher friends asking if I had any recommendations for comfortable but stylish shoes she can teach in all day.
Turns out I do!
I’m a big fan of comfort to the point that it doesn’t matter how cute or stylish something is; if it’s not comfortable, it’s a no go for me.
Why spending a little more on comfortable teacher shoes is 100% worth it…
Shoes are one of the few elements of my wardrobe where, more often than not, I can’t call them super budget-friendly.
Believe me, I’ve tried to find budget-friendly teacher shoes, but they never end up being comfortable or they quickly wear out.
By the literal end of the day, after walking and standing on tile/concrete/whatever hard material classroom floors are, my body seems to ache in proportion to my shoe’s price tag.
After years (I’ve been a teacher for 10 years!) of hunting for shoes that don’t break the bank or your back, I’ve come up empty handed.
The most inexpensive shoes that are comfortable enough to teach in all day are these Birkenstocks for $50.
So, I’ve come to terms with that fact that shoes are an investment because they’ll last for more than one school year. And I’ve never looked back.
In fact, I have yet to think to myself, “Man, I’m so mad I spent $100-$150 on these shoes so my feet don’t hurt at the end of the day!”.
The bottom line? I do think paying more for shoes is totally worth it.
Teacher pro tip for saving $$$ on comfy shoes
Since most of these shoes that super comfy for teachers do cost a pretty penny, here are a few tips I have for saving $$$:
- Always check the sale/final few tab.
- Take the steps to sign up for any discounts offered (you can always unsubscribe if you don’t want the emails later on).
- Keep an eye out right before the school year starts and around holidays as they often have sales.
- Follow on Instagram as they often advertise when they’re having a sale.
- See if they offer a teacher discount!
- I have gotten into the habit of typing in the search engine “teacher discount” for every online store, and I’m pleasantly surprised how many places offer them!
The Most Comfortable Teacher Shoes Part 1: Allbirds

I could go on and on about how comfortable Allbirds are!
Whenever I put them on, I feel like I actually exhale more deeply and my feet would thank me if they could – they’re that comfortable!
Another reason they’re my top pick for most comfortable teacher shoes because they’re washable and they come in tons of really cute styles and color combinations.
My husband is now hooked on Allbirds along with a lot of my family and friends because of how ridiculously comfortable they are.

One of my teacher friends has such great style, and I always love her shoes. She raves about Rothy’s, and after let me tell you: they do no disappoint!
I held off getting my first pair because of the price tag, but now that I own a pair I have never once thought about how much I paid for them (and the teacher discount is a nice perk!)

The prettiest Day Glove Flats

The Day Glove Flat by Everlane comes in a close second to Birdies as far as comfort goes! AND my first pair lasted me 4 years! I just love how many pretty colors they come in.

Not only are they ultra comfortable boots to wear when you are standing all day, they are ethically made with high-quality leather. Not to mention they are just so beautiful.
If you’re having some sticker shock, they have a really good Black Friday Sale, so you can always hold off until then.

The *best* no-show socks
I don’t know about you, but one of my least favorite feelings is when one of my no-show socks slides down into my shoe/beneath my foot when I’m teaching.
And after searching high and low, there are hands-down the only no-show socks (and totally worth the price tag).
And these cuties to wear with boots (and they also happen to be the most comfortable socks!).
